Start with what you know

White marks on shower glass are a reason to investigate deposits, not to buy a system immediately. Hardness concerns dissolved calcium and magnesium; a photograph cannot provide their concentration. Keep cleaning concerns separate from questions about drinking water.

Make the record specific

If marks return on two showers but the kitchen drinking outlet looks different, record the treatment serving each outlet. Comparing an untreated shower with a dedicated drinking system without noting the difference can lead to the wrong conclusion.

Your observation checklist

  • Record how quickly marks reappear after ordinary cleaning.
  • Identify hot, cold or both supplies at each affected fixture.
  • Ask for total hardness, units, sampling point and date.
  • Keep the current filter or softener model and service record.

The question to take to an assessment

Which measured result supports hardness treatment, and which outlets would it serve?

Keep the original observations, dates and documents together. If you commission a visit or test, agree its scope, costs and expected written output directly with the professional. Our online check does not book a technician or send your details to a provider.
