Drinking water in Bali: check the actual outlet

Start with what you know

Do not assume an unfamiliar tap supplies drinking water. Ask the host which water is intended for drinking and how that outlet is maintained and checked. When the supply is uncertain, CDC travel guidance recommends unopened, factory-sealed drinking water or appropriately treated water.

Make the record specific

A kitchen may have an ordinary tap, a separate drinking tap and a refill dispenser. Ask about each one. Equipment elsewhere in the villa does not describe the water from all three outlets.
