UV treatment in Bali: what to ask before you agree

Start with the intended job

UV is a disinfection approach. It does not remove dissolved chemicals. Ask how it fits into the full system and which inlet conditions the chosen unit requires.

Prepare a property-specific brief

A useful proposal explains the rated operating conditions, monitoring and response to a power or equipment fault. Ask who checks the unit and how lamp or component replacement is documented. Do not open an operating UV unit or treat a visible light as proof of performance.

Questions for the proposal

• What pretreatment does the model require?
• How is operation monitored?
• What happens if power or treatment fails?
• Which downstream outlet will be checked?

Compare like with like

Compare documented performance conditions, maintenance and fault response alongside the purchase price. Keep the quote date, included work, exclusions and responsibility for follow-up in writing. Ask who handles a change in performance after handover and what evidence they will need.
